Fuji 45 'Celtic' For Sale @

Bob Bordwell writes - "Celtic is lying Pago Pago American Samoa. We bought her there. My wife and I cruised Mexico and the S. Pacific for 10 years with the last 2 years being on 'Celtic'. We decided to do something else for the next 10 years and the boat is for sale. Listed in Latitide 38, and 48 North, and the web site. Our email address is dolphinamica@yahoo.com and our phone number: 480-600-4088.

She shows a bit of wear and tear, all cosmetic and small things, but she's seaworthy and I'd sail her anywhere. Speaking of sailing, she is one of the finest sailing boats of her class I've ever sailed. The starter failed on the Westerbeke diesel, and we sailed her 200 miles to weather back to Pago Pago in typical trade wind conditions: 20 kts, 8 - 10 foot seas. She sailed to weather with barely any attention to the helm, close winded and didn't bang into the waves. A well designed boat.

We really love her, but just doesnt fit our plans right now. It’s a shame we have to sell her, but truth is we really can’t afford her as a recreational boat. As our home, she was great, but for weekends and day sails, she’s a little big and the upkeap is too expensive for us. By the way, she is a really great sailing boat, expecially considering what she is: 34,000 lb disp. Heavy cruiser, center cockpit, aft cabin, etc. She has the sweetest, most balanced helm I think I’ve ever felt.

Comment by Bill Ashenhart : There is an article in the 'Inprint ' section titled Gale Alley by Steven McAbee Ocean Navigator ®, Nov/Dec 1997 issue) which describes 'Celtic' weathering a storm at sea in the Aleutians with her previous owner. The article describes their use of a Para-Tech sea anchor for almost a 2-week period. I was exhausted after simply reading this article. If the information presented here doesn't convince you of the strength of the FUJI 45 then nothing will.
